Depending on your specific needs, Beacon Financial Partners can work with you in a number of ways, including Financial Planning, Asset Management, Wealth Management, and Hourly Consulting:
Financial Planning is not an end product – it’s an ongoing process. By creating a road map to get you where you want to go, you will gain a better understanding of what’s important to you and how you can achieve your life goals. Beacon Financial Partners works together with you to clarify your goals and help you achieve financial prosperity by building a custom Financial Plan for your specific needs.
We help you achieve financial prosperity by following a six-step planning process:
The Financial Planning process includes an initial information gathering and goal-setting meeting, a follow-up “plan check” discussion, and a presentation meeting where we explain your formal, written plan. Your plan will address and give specific recommendations in many critical areas such as:
You will also receive detailed year-by-year Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Income Tax projections. We can coordinate with your existing accountant, estate planning attorney, or insurance agent, or refer you to one as needed.
Asset Management clients want to simplify their lives and reduce the worry that they won’t achieve their financial goals. First we review with you your investment experience, historical market performance, realistic expectations for the future, and our value-oriented investment philosophy. Then we mutually agree on an Investment Policy Statement that governs how we will custom manage your portfolio taking into account your risk tolerance, cash flow needs, tax situation, investment preferences, and any other constraints. The Investment Policy Statement is also the place to address special strategies such as exiting a large stock position or integrating your portfolio with a stock option exercise plan.
We balance your personal risk tolerance and cash needs with the time frame and funding status of your goals to determine an appropriate investment strategy. Your accounts will typically consist of a well-diversified mix of individual securities and mutual funds in asset classes such as:
Whenever possible, we minimize taxes while managing your portfolio. However, we view tax management, although very important, as secondary to having a well-diversified portfolio with appropriate risk levels and accessibility to your money.
Your investment accounts will typically be custodied at Shareholders Service Group (SSG*) in San Diego. SSG provides institutional custody services exclusively to financial advisors, and is a member of the Security Investors Protection Corporation (SIPC).
We make changes to your portfolio, if appropriate, under the guidelines and constraints of your Investment Policy Statement. As fee-only advisors, we receive no payment of any kind for trading on your accounts. Any trading commissions incurred are paid directly to SSG (or other custodian) for executing the trade. You receive detailed quarterly reports from us for your consolidated portfolio, and trade confirmations and monthly or quarterly reports from SSG on your individual accounts.
To be eligible for our Asset Management services, new clients must generally have combined total assets of at least $500,000 under our management, with no individual account being less than $50,000.
